The NSW Taxi Industry is in the news again, and it's not the publicity they probably want. Unfortunately the news teams seemed to have missed a major issue for less mobile folk, and that's a regular refusal to pick up bookings for short journeys. That's devastating for people unable to walk any kind of distance, and without any other transport option. The industry seems to have some other significant failings too, not least of which is a shortage of vehicles/services available for people using wheelchairs. And according to at least one person, the vehicles that are around often fail minimum standards. The TigeRider shuttle service has some changed conditions, which come into effect in July. If you're a user of LCTG's Individual Transport, you might find the new guide handy ... From the report; As of the 1st of January, LCTG's Individual Transport service has changes and new features. Our new Individual Transport leaflet has all the details.
